Speed kills. The premier event at the NFL Scouting Combine is the 40-Yard Dash, which which inspired this like-named event at the 2015 Fantasy Combine.
The 40-Yard Dash is a sprint covering 40 yards that participants will attempt to complete as quickly as possible. Runners will begin in a stationary position of their choice. Two timers armed with stopwatches will be placed at the finish line. While coordinating with the other timer, one of the timers will cue the player to begin the run, at which point time will start. Timers will stop time when the player’s head or torso crosses the finish line. The player’s final time will be the average of the two times.
In the event that a participant chooses not to run or is not able to complete the race, he will be designated ‘DNF’ and will not score any points for placement.
In the event that a participant falls, he can choose to finish the race and accept the fall-impaired time or retry the event. Participants that fall will be allowed one retry attempt. If the participant falls on the retry, they may choose to finish and accept the fall-impaired time or be designated ‘DNF’.
Any error in timekeeping will require a re-run by the player.
Players will run the 40-Yard Dash in reverse order of points standings at the time of the event.
